1999 (Sophomore): Backup middle hitter who appeared in 27 matches and 39 games…started four matches in place of an injured Veronica Lima…in one of those matches at San Jose State (10/29), had seven kills, 17 digs, 13 blocks, and two service aces, all of which were season-highs…recorded five kills and hit .833 vs. Rice (11/18)…on the year, averaged 0.92 kills, hitting .274…also averaged 1.92 digs and 1.03 blocks per game.

College: Played one season at Oregon… appeared in 58 games, averaging 1.95 kills and 0.83 blocks…played at middle blocker where she posted a season-high 15 kills and hit .542 at California…hit for double-figure kills in seven matches, including five straight from Oct. 22 (USC) through Nov. 6 (Washington State)…had a season-high 10 blocks vs. Oral Roberts… put together an 11-kill and seven-block performance against UCLA… averaged 2.12 kills and hit .316 in Pac-10 play.

Prep: A 1996 graduate of Medical School in Split, Croatia…member of Kastela Club team since 1991…team finished between second and fourth place in both Croatian and European Championships for the last seven years…in 1995 named Most Valuable Player at the European Junior Championships in Turkey…in 1996 was a member of the Croatian Junior National team that finished sixth in the European Championships…in 1997 team was crowned Croatian Cadette champion and in 1998 she was a junior champion.

Personal: Born Tanja Nikolic on May 2, 1978, in Split, Croatia…aspires to be a doctor and someday own a home in Hawai'i…enjoys swimming, listening to music, playing beach volleyball, scuba diving, and fishing…favorites include Croatian seafood, actor Denzel Washington, and the movie "Once Were Warriors"…in hometown, played beach volleyball with NBA player Toni Kukoc…has one brother, Nino…parents are Neda and Zoran Nikolic of Kastel Luksic, Croatia.
