1999 (Sophomore): Appeared in 27 matches at opposite, recording a team-high 4.95 kills per game…broke UH single-match record tallying 50 kills against UCLA (Apr. 24) in MPSF Tournament…for his efforts, earned MPSF player-of-the-week honors…led the team in kills seven times…had three matches with 30-plus kills and another four matches registering 20-plus kills…put together back-to-back 30-kill matches; pounding 30 against UC Santa Barbara (Mar. 6) and 32 at Long Beach State (Mar. 12)…hit .447 and notched eight digs and four blocks against Gauchos.

1998: Redshirted.

1997 (Freshman): As a true freshman, played a vital role as a back-up to All-American Jason Ring…appeared in 22 matches, started the first two matches of the year at opposite…recorded 11 kills, two block solos and five block assists vs. USC (Apr. 11)…had 11 kills in his debut against UC San Diego (Jan. 17)…posted a season-high of seven digs against Cal State Northridge (Mar. 7).

Prep: A 1996 graduate of Kaiser High School in Honolulu…earned one letter in both basketball and water polo…named second-team all-league in water polo as a goalie…did not play prep volleyball because the program was not offered.

Personal: Born Jan. 20, 1978 in Honolulu…nickname is "Bird"…enjoys surfing and skateboarding…other favorites include spaghetti, actor Clint Eastwood and the movie "Pulp Fiction"…heavily recruited by Pepperdine, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, Brigham Young, Long Beach State and San Diego State…biggest athletic thrill was placing second in the Junior Olympics in San Jose, Calif…father, Jon, is a volunteer coach with the Rainbows…has two sisters and two brothers… parents are Sandra Haine of Bellvue, Wash. and Jon Stanley of Honolulu.
