1998 (Freshman): An all-around player who contributed in just her freshman year…named to WAC all-tournament team…in tournament, she had 42 kills and 39 digs…put together a 17-kill and 18-dig performance against Brigham Young (11/28) in title match…finished second on the team in blocking (1.19), third in kills (2.86) and fourth in digs (2.24)…had 12 blocks against San Diego State (10/17)…recorded 19 kills and hit .394 in win over Pacific (9/19)…posted five double-double matches…had 16 kills, 11 digs and eight blocks against BYU-Hawai'i.
Brazil: Attended Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Brazil for one year…did not play volleyball.
Prep: A 1994 graduate of Padre Machado Institute in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil…lettered in volleyball…member of Brazil's under-17 Junior National team that competed at the Junior World Championships…led that team to the South American championship title where she was named tournament MVP…in 1995, competed at the Pan American Games and World University Games.
Personal: Born Veronica Lima Nogueira on April 9, 1977, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil…enjoys listening to music, reading books and watching movies in her spare time…ambition is to win an NCAA Championship…favorites include the movie "Titanic," actor Pierce Brosnan and athlete Alexandre Samuel…has four brothers, Guilherme, Thiago, Daniel and Eduardo…parents are Rita Maria Lima and Decio Nogueira da Silva of Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
