Clemson ends Maryland's perfect season

RALEIGH, N.C.- Clemson ruined Maryland's hopes of a perfect
season Saturday with a 7-15, 15-10, 15-8, 15-10 victory in the
semifinals of the ACC Tournament. The No. 1 seeded Terrapins
controlled the first game, holding the Tigers to a .044 hitting
percentage. Clemson responded with a strong defensive effort to
sweep the next three games. Alison Coday led the Tigers with 29 kills
and 24 digs, and Cindy Stern added 23 kills. Elizabeth Efron led
Maryland with 20 kills and Eden Kroeger had 33 digs. Each team
totaled 114 digs in the match.
