Assistant Coach Matt Johnson

Born in San Diego, and raised in Honolulu, Matt Johnson begins his third year on the Rainbow volleyball assistant coaching staff.

The former outside hitter, who played for the Rainbows from 1992-94, is currently finishing up his degree in English. Johnson played on Wilton's 1994 team that qualified for the NCAA qualifying tournament, the MPSF Championships.

In addition to assisting in all capacities, Johnson's immediate responsibilities include recruiting and coordinating the volleyball camp.

The 1989 graduate of Campbell High School on the west side of Oahu enjoys working out, reading and playing beach volleyball in his spare time. He earned two letters for the Rainbows in 1993 and '94.

Johnson is also an assistant coach for the Iolani girls varsity volleyball team.
